Audience development and arts education are the primary objectives that drive the educational outreach component of the CES program. Building audiences that will understand and appreciate the arts now and in the future is critical to our program mission. Our goal is to inspire our audience to take performance experiences beyond the stage and into their lives.
CES prides itself on offering FSU students and members of the surrounding community the opportunity to grow and expand through a variety of experiential learning opportunities.

“Give the dame her due. … It’s invigorating to be in the presence of a true original.” – The New York Times
A stunningly original comedienne, musician, storyteller and provocateur, Sandra Bernhard arrives in Frostburg with her energetic band of musicians to deliver a cabaret show that is sure to leave the audience clamoring for more. Since she first stepped onstage at the Comedy Store in the 1970s, the unforgettable Bernhard has continued to thrill fans and critics alike with her irreverent humor, keen satire and rollicking stage presence. The Los Angeles Times raved that her “combination of glamour and accessibility accounts for Bernhard’s enduring appeal. ... The experience is like hanging out with a hip and funny friend who never fails to lift you up with her outrageous freedom.”
